Yes, servo drive cabinet doors are a thing and our partner DesignCraft has perfected the art. First, you may ask, what is a servo drive cabinet door and why should I care?
Servo drives are electric motors that can precisely control the acceleration, speed, and position of an item attached to it. For example, an above oven cabinet door might be very awkward to open, especially if the handle would move out of reach. With a touch, a servo drive cabinet door could move to and back from the desired location.
In the above example from DesignCraft, the handle might be reachable when the cabinet door is closed, but when open, might be out of reach. The door is made to look like pull-out drawers when, in fact, they open as shown.
Touching the lower portion of the cabinet door causes it to open and close in a controlled fashion making it easier to use typically unusable space.
There are a couple different types of servo drive cabinet doors.
