In 2019 they have raised the bar with innovative storage ideas that will allow you integrate trends into your design, while keeping your kitchen as functional as possible.
New Storage and Organization Solutions
Hidden behind cabinet doors, this pantry looks like just a tall pantry cabinet. The pantry entrance is perfectly integrated into the flow of the cabinet faces. In most kitchens, a walk-in pantry is entered via a door with moulding. We think this application is the cleanest way to introduce additional storage into a kitchen design.
When designing a walk-in pantry, consider adding countertops, a sink, and a mini-fridge, especially if there is access to an outside wall that abuts a deck, barbecue, or swimming area. That will keep some of the “outside traffic” from your kitchen. This area can also function as a Butler’s Pantry, meal assembly prior to serving (extra storage and countertops) or a Scullery Kitchen (add a sink, dishwasher, and mini-fridge) which is great if you have caterers help with your events.
For home owners who are considering a Safe Room, the concealed walk-in pantry can be modified with a hinged shelving unit that can be swung and locked into the pantry entrance, hiding the space behind.
This trend has some pros and cons: it increases storage space and makes room for windows along the cabinet walls. It also can place items out-out-reach, or make the added space only suitable to display items.
With Medallion innovations, gone are the days of leaving the ground to reach items placed up high. This is especially important for those of us who plan on aging-in-place and might not want to climb on a chair to reach a needed kitchen item.
The pull-down shelf allows you to deliver heavier items with a lite pull of a handle. A soft push sends returned items back to their home.
Swing-Out Upper Cabinet
This 24-inch wall kitchen cabinet features a unique swing out tray, which brings stored items out and within easy reach. This design literally adds a foot or two to your “height” by alleviating the need to reach over the lip of the cabinet to grasp what’s stored there.
Technology Storage and Charging Station
We want our laptops, tablets, and phones close-at-hand and fully charged. Because of this, our devices are usually sitting all over our kitchen counters getting their batteries filled with electrons. Medallion Cabinetry has created a nifty solution: a drawer with two 110 volt and two USB outlets for charging. Cool Cabinetry meets high-tech!
