Medallion Cabinetry has a number of designers on-staff that provide us with weekly ideas that we pass along to our clients. In this edition, we will show you examples of a Medallion Bathroom Remodel that was done in their designer Angela’s home.
Medallion Bathroom Remodel
Angela is the perfect example of how a client and designer can work together to create a fantastic update to a bathroom. The started by discussing why they wanted a change.
Angela had lots of ideas for her Medallion Bathroom Remodel and the first was to get rid of the mauve tile, pink sinks, laminate cabinets, and carpeting. She also wanted a better storage solution for the items on the vanity and wasn’t quite sure what the black recess next to the tub was for. Towels? The existing towel bar is pretty far away…
There were also some issues with the floor plan: The two linen closet doors bumped into the bathroom door and the extended area with the basin by the tub wasted a lot of space.
One of the major improvements was to relocate the shower and cut back the wall that separated the old shower/water closet area and window from the rest of the bathroom. They were thinking of enlarging the windows but, because the front of the house is made from brick, changing the window openings would have been cost prohibitive.
Removing the built-in tub made plenty of room for a free-standing version and an on-trend, all-glass shower enclosure. The new Medallion Cabinetry vanity in the make-up are added bathroom-specific storage. A frameless mirror was also added to reflect the light from the windows to create a much-needed and airy feel.
